  • Job Title: Auditorium and Events Support Technician
    Pay Program: Support Staff Non-Exempt
    Pay Range: Support Staff Hourly Range 7 $18.45 - $20.57
    Work Year: Student Contact Days (177 Days / 7 Hours)
    Reports to: Building Leader
    Direct Reports: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Summary
    Operating under the direction of the Building Leader this position plays a vital role in supporting school and community events held in the auditorium by coordinating logistics assisting with technical operations and maintaining the theater space in collaboration with students. This position works closely with the Theater Arts Director and Performing Arts staff (Band Choir Orchestra) to ensure successful performances and events. The Specialist also supports community use of the space by managing event scheduling providing on-site support during after-school and evening activities and building strong relationships with students staff and community members.

    1. Community Outreach and Event Coordination
      1. Serves as the schools primary contact for facility use requests providing guidance on availability rental policies and procedures.
      2. Manages the scheduling and coordination of events in the school auditorium including setup and execution.
      3. Serves as a liaison for community groups utilizing the performance space ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
      4. Maintains regular communication with school leadership and external organizations to support smooth event planning and logistics.
      5. Coordinates with departments such as Custodial and Nutrition Services to provide services.
      6. Manages event bookings and logistics through the Districts facility reservation system.
    1. Theater Operations and Technical Support
      1. Assists the Theater Arts Director in preparing the auditorium for school and community productions events and rehearsals.
      2. Supervises and supports after-school and evening events in the auditorium including setup operation and tear-down.
      3. Troubleshoots and resolves basic technical issues related to sound lighting and AV equipment.
      4. Collaborates with students in the care and maintenance of the theater space fostering a sense of responsibility and learning.
    1. Collaboration and Team Support
      1. Works in close partnership with the Performing Arts team including Band Choir and Orchestra staff to support shared events and productions.
      2. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with students staff and community members.
      3. Promotes a safe inclusive and supportive environment for students participating in theater and performing arts programs.
    1. Other Duties
      1. Additional tasks duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed/requested.


    Education and Experience
    Acceptable demonstration of acceptable education and/or experience will be at the sole discretion of the District.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Experience with spreadsheet software like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel required
    • Experience with Facilitron or other facility scheduling software preferred

    Licenses Registrations or Certifications
    • Criminal background check required for hire
    • Valid Colorado drivers license or valid Colorado identification required

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities
    • Familiarity with district policies rental agreements safety regulations and insurance requirements for facility use
    • Knowledge of financial processes including invoicing fee collection and budget tracking
    • Knowledge of Districts Facility Management software within 3 months of hire
    • Ability to be adaptable and flexible with collaborative critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
    • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide support in a professional and approachable manner
    • Commitment to handling sensitive and confidential information with the highest ethical standards
    • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and various stakeholders
    • Ability to lead communicate interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
    • Ability to follow applicable federal state local laws and Board of Education policies in addition to building and department procedures
    • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace follow safety rules practice safe work habits utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator
    • Basic data entry bookkeeping and basic math skills
    • Ability to work independently as needed with minimal direction and/or supervision
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and frequent interruptions in a timely manner
    • Ability to use de-escalation skills to diffuse and manage stressful and fluid situations
