Job Description

Description

The International Patient Coordinator works with embassy-sponsored patients and their Sponsors (generally government entities) and /or with counterparts at international medical centers and referral facilitator companies to coordinate care. In the case of embassy-sponsored patients works to ensure that the care being received is consistent with the Letter of Guarantee from the Sponsoring Agent. Interacts on a daily basis with these external groups international patients Mayo staff and Sponsoring Agents to coordinate services for patients referred by these organizations. Specific to embassy-sponsored patients assists in obtaining authorization of services not covered by the original Letter of Guarantee. Communicates regularly with Sponsoring Agents providing lists of patients active in the Mayo system status etc. Works to ensure appointments are scheduled timely and consistent with the approved care. Interacts on a daily basis with the referring groups and international patients to ensure service expectations are appropriately set and that operations are synchronized with relevant internal Mayo staff. Must enjoy interacting with and serving a culturally diverse international patient population and thrive in a rapidly changing fast-paced environment. Will be asked to cover other assignments in the International Office as needed.
