You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Stead Family Department of Pediatrics Division of Medical Genetics is seeking a Dietician.Duties include using the Nutrition Care Process to assess evaluate and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition counseling for patients in program areas as assigned.
Duties to include:
Provides quality patient care including nutrition screening evaluation assessment treatment and documentation of patient care plan appropriate for complex patients.
Assesses nutritional status and instructs/counsels on appropriate diet.
Participates as active member of departmental/hospital committees concerning problems affecting patients food habits and needs.
Participates in health team rounds and short-term projects.
Participates on Clinical Masters selection committee. Educates students with on-the-job training. Evaluates students. Provides students with necessary support and assistance to ensure work is completed.
Educates/trains new personnel as assigned and acts as a mentor to new personnel.
Conducts peer chart reviews/audits for Dietitian I.
Seeks opportunities to enhance ones own professional knowledge skills and development including research for publication/presentation lead monthly CEU program for dietitian staff obtain advanced credentialing serve as a clinical resource to peers.
Maintain effective working relationships with faculty staff students and the public.

Required Qualifications
A Masters degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.
Licensure by the State of Iowa is required.
Reasonable (5 years) clinical nutrition experience is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated competency of patient care in pediatric adult and geriatric populations across a wide range of medical conditions in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Experience in making enteral and parenteral recommendations and selecting appropriate formulas.
