The Department of General Services is seeking a diligent Tort Claims Representative to join theTort Claims Division andassist in providing vital insurance related services within the Commonwealth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Tort Claims Representative you will be responsible forinvestigating and adjudicating all claims made against and on behalf of the Commonwealth. Duties will entail providing assistance to constituents with the incident submittal process triaging new incidents to determine liability and investigating and adjudicating claims appropriately. You will managethe claims process by obtaining detailed claims evidence evaluating vehicle accidents involving Commonwealth agencies and notating findings and determinations as appropriate. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital within this profession as you will be regularly interfacing with claimants attorneys witnesses insurance representatives law enforcement medical personnel and more.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time however you will be required to report to the office one day per month and when required by management. In order to telework you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of technical experience in evaluating or processing claims or interviewing consumers to collect or review financial insurance or personal information or records to determine next actions; or
- Two years of technical experience in evaluating or processing claims or interviewing consumers to obtain or review financial insurance or personal information or records to determine next actions and an associates degree; or
- A bachelors degree;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
