This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective on July 1 2026.

JOB DUTIES:
As a Claims Examiner 2 in the call center you will:
- Assist the public over the phone in the claim process utilizing the external customer oriented online claims system to file the claim.
- Explain the rights and responsibilities of Unemployment Insurance eligibility.
- Gather facts necessary for processing claims to ensure accuracy efficiency and compliance with Unemployment Insurance laws rules and policies.
- Provide support over the phone on complex information to claimants co-workers employers other government agencies and interested parties.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
If you are the right person for this opportunity you will have the following knowledge skills or abilities:
Knowledge of (or ability to learn in a reasonable amount of time):
- Effective verbal and written communication compassionately and firmly when serving challenging customers.
- Operation of a personal computer including researching database systems such as Microsoft Outlook Excel and Word.
- Office practices and procedures business English grammar mathematics and information gathering techniques.
Skill in:
- Offering exceptional customer service via phone.
- Navigating multiple computer programs to accomplish work tasks especially the skill of keyboarding quickly and accurately.
- Time management processing and prioritizing a heavy workload with multiple deadlines.
Ability to:
- Identify complexity level of a claim according to established facts.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Learn and apply policies procedures and explain the claims process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with a strong mix of the attributes listed in the above Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) are desired. Candidates may demonstrate competency in the KSAs through experience formal education (including certificates credentials or degree-based programs) or a combination of both. Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
- Related education or experience equivalent to three years.
- Directly related education includes post-secondary coursework in business office administration or a related field.
- Relevant experience includes call center customer service general office practices research and using databases and other software applications to accomplish work.
