Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Reporting into Director Workforce Strategy & Insights you will be responsible for defining designing and implementing a bold enterprise-wide workforce planning strategy from the ground up. This role is critical in bringing clarity alignment and future-readiness to how Metrolinx plans and manages its workforce across diverse business units.

Youll serve as a strategic advisor and architect tasked with unifying siloed planning efforts integrating workforce strategy into the broader corporate agenda and ensuring alignment between talent supply and organizational demand in a rapidly evolving environment.

What will I be doing

  • Design and lead the implementation of an enterprise-wide strategic workforce planning strategy including tools and methodology that allows leaders to make informed decisions and help solidify rationale on resourcing requirements.
  • Lead forecasting capacity modelling and workforce optimization initiatives in partnership with internal and external stakeholdersto drive improvements in productivity service levels and cost efficiency.
  • Integrate workforce planning into long-term corporate strategy and operational planning cycles by collaborating with business leaders to understand their workforce needs and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct regular workforce demand and supply analysis to identify potential capacity gaps and opportunities.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure that KPIs and performance management practices meet best practices and address emerging issues and trends.
  • Develop and manage workforce/project staffing plans that adhere to corporate standards applicable legislation and meet service delivery objectives.
  • Build and develop a dedicated high-performing data-driven workforce planning team with a strong focus on strategic insight client needs and continuous improvement.
  • Develop a clear scalable and aligned roadmap that reflects the unique needs of each division.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership influencing workforce decisions and resource deployment.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need

  • Completion of a degree in a related discipline such as Business Administration/Management or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in workforce planning resource management and data analysis
  • Canadian Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation is preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or process re-engineering certifications would be an asset
  • Experience with data analytics PeopleSoft Microsoft BI and visualization tools
  • Demonstrated project management skills for large-scale projects and initiatives
  • Experience and knowledge of process improvement principles and methodologies
  • Ability to translate transformation strategies into execution plans and activities
