Job Description
TITLE: Art Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: N/A
TERM: 10 months
JOB GOAL: Work with students to help them learn concepts of art. Assist students in applying concepts they have learned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:
- Bachelor Degree in Education
- Hold appropriate Tennessee certification license
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Effective decision-making and verbal and written communication skills
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of personnel.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Description: Art Teacher
- Provide an instructional program that is differentiated.
- Create a secure classroom climate.
- Serve as a role model for students by cultivating personal artistic talents and creating artistic work.
- Plan develop implement and monitor student success as your goal.
- Use available technology in your lessons.
- Communicate effectively with parents and students.
- Provide instruction in the proper use of artistic materials and equipment ensuring safe use.
- Provide a nurturing supportive and positive classroom climate that encourages student responsibility using positive motivation clear classroom routines challenging instructional strategies and effective classroom management techniques.
- Maintain safe working conditions while using all art equipment.
- Assist with others duties as assigned by the Principal.
