About the Opportunity
Were working with a growing and respected consulting firm specializing in mechanical systems for commercial institutional and residential buildings. With a strong pipeline of projects and a collaborative team environment theyre expanding their presence in Kelowna and looking to bring on a talented Mechanical Designer Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET).
The Role
This position is ideal for someone with 5 years of experience in mechanical design within the building consultancy space who thrives in a dynamic entrepreneurial setting. Youll play a key role in leading mechanical design efforts engaging directly with clients and supporting projects from concept through construction.
What Youll Do
- Lead and execute the design of mechanical systems (HVAC plumbing fire protection) for a range of building types
- Collaborate with architects clients and consultants to deliver coordinated and code-compliant designs
- Prepare mechanical layouts and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD
- Conduct site visits assessments and provide construction-phase support
- Manage your own project timelines and maintain proactive communication with clients
- Contribute to a supportive forward-thinking team culture
What Were Looking For
- 5 years of experience in mechanical building systems design
- CET or . designation (or eligibility for registration in BC)
- Strong understanding of local codes ASHRAE guidelines and mechanical standards
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Excellent communication skills and a strong client service orientation
- Ability to work independently manage project responsibilities and take initiative
