The Opportunity:
Port of Newcastle is looking for a full-time Dredge Crew Member. Working on PONs dredge vessel the David Allan you will assist the Dredge team to operate and maintain the vessel in a safe efficient and seamanlike manner.
In this role you will participate in the operations of the David Allen and carry out regular on-board inspections and maintenance activities with particular focus on contributing to the excellent safety culture of the Crew. Being a key member of the dredges operation team you will work in accordance with the Dredge Masters instruction ensuring a high level of safety and effective operation.
What you will bring:
To secure this role you will have demonstrated ability in the handling and maintenance of small vessels. It is essential that you have either Coxswain 1NC Certificate or Integrated Rating Certificate along with a general understanding of overall port operations. Your effective oral and written communication skills are crucial for report writing and maintaining a safe workplace. Experience in a maritime port environment is advantageous.
