Reporting to the Program Supervisor this position is a dedicated resource responsible for leading and supporting relationship building and maintenance with interested parties regarding housing supply growth. This includes the development industry government and community through communications engagement marketing and education of the Housing Action Teams initiatives and programs. This role is critical to informing interested parties about the Citys initiatives to attain housing supply growth targets by 2026. The position also contributes to building the capacity of community organizations and not-for-profits strengthening relationships and supporting their development of strong initiatives for future funding opportunities. You will act as a conduit for Housing Action Team communications contributing to Council Reports inquiries briefings and presentations. This role requires political acumen and awareness housing expertise critical thinking and public engagement and communications experience.
What will you do
- Lead and manage projects supporting the Citys Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) Action Plan and Initiatives including creating terms of reference managing work plans and engaging interested parties effectively
- Provide regular status updates to the Program Supervisor/Director and develop program frameworks aligned with Branch and Corporate strategic plans
- Manage and support agreement negotiations drafting execution and monitoring for various HAF Action Plan Initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with the development industry other orders of government and community organizations to address housing and affordable housing needs
- Lead and support communication and engagement activities for HAF Action Plan programs particularly for community groups supporting affordable housing
- Build partnerships with internal and external interested parties to leverage funding and align priorities for market and affordable housing initiatives
- Act as a subject matter expert on interested parties including government industry and not-for-profits within the Housing Action Team collaborating to identify grant funding opportunities and support program development
- Facilitate discussions to understand community and external interested party needs concerning housing and affordable housing
- Act as a liaison in projects facilitating communication between internal and external interested parties and providing data and insights
- Engage with interested parties to review business systems and processes identifying and implementing solutions for improved efficiency
- Prepare thorough and accurate reports memos and briefings to inform leadership decisions and ensure alignment with housing development strategies
- Engage with the development industry government citizens and community groups providing responsive and informed support
- Provide comprehensive guidance to prospective program and grant applicants on eligibility application processes and reporting
- Other duties as assigned
