General Description
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a wide variety of both complex and
routine administrative services on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resources
Manager in executing responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee inquiries benefits
administration compensation recruiting onboarding and enforcement of policies and procedures as well
as other special projects.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Prescreening of all potential employees and volunteers
Arrange all screenings and ensure that no associate of volunteer begins prior to completion
Ensure Volunteer recognition and Employee Birthday & Anniversary events completed
Manage Annual Benefits Renewal annually
Support the completion of all 401(k) requirements
Accurately manage the tracking of donor gifts pledges etc
Work closely and collaborate with the finance and ensure relevant employee data is accurate in the HRIS
system for error free bi- weekly
Have a knowledge of and assist with compliance of state and federal labor laws including FLSA and
ACA.
Organize and maintain employee files.
Maintain I-9 files9For students and employees
Requirements
Associate degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field.
Preferred or equivalent experience
Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) with capability to recognize and
tailor.
approach to audience (students co-workers donors direct reports suppliers leadership team etc)
Sensitivity to the ethnic racial and religious backgrounds of the student body
Experience and ability to work in an urban High School environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Proficiency in Word and Excel is necessary)
Must maintain confidential information.
