California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) is a preeminent center of intellectual and cultural activity in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. JOB SUMMARY
Peer tutors provide walk-in help to students taking mathematics coursework at any level under the direction of the Math Gym coordinator.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Peer tutors typically work in person in the Math Gym in Jack Brown Hall and provide walk-in help to students taking mathematics coursework at any level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a currently enrolled student in an undergraduate or graduate program at CSUSB.

The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
Following a conditional offer of employment a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with CSUSB. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mathematics is one of nine departments within the College of Natural Sciences. We offer four bachelors degrees a Masters degree a minor in mathematics and a minor in statistics as well as a Certificate in Introductory Actuarial Mathematics and a Subject Matter Authorization. Most of our students are the first in their families to go to college. More than half of our students are members of minority groups and one quarter are from groups traditionally underrepresented in the sciences. CSUSB is nationally recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and we are one of the top mathematics departments in graduating Hispanic students.
