Job Description:
Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to manage maintain and optimize our Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure the availability security and performance of Oracle databases supporting critical business applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install configure and upgrade Oracle database software and related products.
- Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve efficiency.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups recovery and patching.
- Manage database security by implementing user roles permissions and auditing.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution.
- Collaborate with development teams to support database design query optimization and deployment.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g. Shell PL/SQL).
- Manage data replication migration and disaster recovery plans.
- Document database configurations processes and procedures.
- Stay current with Oracle updates new features and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Proven experience as an Oracle DBA or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database architecture and components.
- Experience with Oracle RAC Data Guard ASM and backup/recovery tools.
- Proficiency in SQL PL/SQL and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Experience with database security and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or relevant certifications.
- Experience with cloud-based Oracle solutions (e.g. Oracle Cloud AWS RDS).
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Experience with database automation and monitoring tools.
Success Factors:
- You should have a strong background in ORACLE and database administration
- Be able to quickly diagnose and resolve database issues.
- You should be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and work well in a team environment.
