OCL Group Inc. (OCL) is a proudly 100% Canadian privately held employee-owned fully integrated general contractor with design-build solutions across Western Canada with the experience you can trust and the quality you can depend on serving the energy and municipal infrastructure markets since 2009.
The formation of OCL was a direct result of a few long-tenured industry professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit wanting to get back to their roots and build an organization where people matter. The Role
We are currently recruiting for ExcavatorOperators who are local to the Edmonton / Fort Saskatchewan area. Previous experience is a must for this role.You will be working Monday to Friday 10 hours per day Monday to Thursday and 8 hours per day on Friday.
Compensation/Benefits
Wages range based on experience
Overtime at 1.5 x after 8 hours per day
10% vacation and stat pay on all regular hours worked
Benefits 50/50 split after 90 days with the company

Responsibilities and Duties
- Ability to safety operate heavy equipment
- Work cooperatively with crew to accomplish tasks
- Consistently monitor and maintain compliance with safety policies procedures and regulations
- Ensure a safe team environment
- Perform daily routine maintenance on machine including lubrication and monitor needed repairs/service requirements
- Operate equipment while maintaining proper awareness of surroundings
- Understand and complete pre and post safety checks
- Compliance with all safety regulations
- Various other duties assigned
Dow Chemical Canada is takinginitiatives to increase production capacity and reduce carbon emissions as part ofits sustainability goals. In this context Dow has initiated the FS PATH2ZERO Program todecarbonize and grow production 3MM mta of low to zero carbon emissions C2derivatives at its Fort Saskatchewan facilities in Canada. The overall program includes anethylene plant derivative plants (five world scale polyethylene units) and their associateddecarbonization scope. These assets are targeted to startup in the latter half of 2027 forthe Program
Phase 1 and in 2029 for the Program Phase 2. This contract for OCL would be the early works and block grading preparation for the constructionof the new units as highlighted below:
Civil Site prep for the multiple blocks (stripping/grading)
Final grading/aggregate and paving placement
Site improvement; stormwaterditching and pond upgrades parking lot expansions
Railwaycrossings
Underground piping & utilities
Electrical tie ins and undergrounds and grounding
High mast lighting foundations and install
Minor concrete works
Phase 1 and in 2029 for the Program Phase 2. This contract for OCL would be the early works and block grading preparation for the constructionof the new units as highlighted below:

Qualifications
- 3 years previous experience operating an excavator in an industrial construction setting
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Strong communication skills
- Valid Ground Disturbance ticket
- Familiarity with GPS and other tracking devices
- Drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
