Job Description

  • Full time fixed term role until 1st of December 2025 with strong likelihood of extension

  • Play a pivotal role in the development of a childhood type 1 diabetes screening trial

  • Base Salary $% superannuation

  • Hybrid working option available

About the opportunity

As the Research Coordinator you will provide critical support to the development of a new trial within the Australian Type 1 Diabetes National Screening Pilot a landmark public health research initiative for children. Working closely with the Principal Investigator Research Manager and the research team at the Charles Perkins Centre as well as a national multidisciplinary team of researchers clinicians and stakeholders you will be responsible for the set-up of a new clinical trial including operational planning ethics submissions development of study documentation and family-facing materials and stakeholder engagement.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in new research that aims to transform early detection and care for type 1 diabetes in Australia.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • project manage the setup of the clinical trial in collaboration with the broader research team and the national multidisciplinary research team

  • prepare and manage ethics submissions and governance approvals across multiple institutions

  • coordinate the development of study documents and parent and child-facing materials

  • adhere to protocols ethical and regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines for clinical trials at all times

  • assist with research operations research contract and service agreement coordination and trial logistics

  • assist with staff recruitment and training as needed

  • liaise with research partners healthcare providers and other key stakeholders

About you

  • tertiary educated health qualifications are highly regarded

  • experience working within a research or clinical trial context with knowledge and understanding of GCP guidelines

  • project management skills with the ability to problem solve and juggle multiple competing priorities

  • meticulous attention to detail with high level organisational skills

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team

  • ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
