The Communications and Events Officer is responsible for strategically shaping and promoting the identity of Parramatta Marist High School. This role leads the planning development and execution of communications marketing and event initiatives that reflect the schools values traditions and accomplishments. The Communications and Events Officer oversees all internal and external communications including social media newsletters digital marketing publications and community events to strengthen the schools profile and engagement across the Marist network and broader community through purposeful storytelling.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Communications and Events Officer is accountable for:
Developing and executing communications strategies that support school priorities enrolment goals community engagement and the Marist mission.
Upholding and strengthening the schools visual and written identity across all communication channels in alignment with Marist values.
Collaborating with school leadership and teaching staff to produce content that highlights student achievement school culture and Catholic identity.
Leading the planning creation scheduling and performance analysis of content across the schools official social media platforms (Facebook Instagram LinkedIn etc.).
Developing platform-specific strategies to increase audience engagement and promote key events and initiatives.
Coordinating the production and distribution of weekly mid-term and end-of-term newsletters via Compass and other relevant platforms.
Managing the design content collection and production of the schools annual Yearbook.
Designing visual assets for print and digital media including posters flyers event branding social media graphics and promotional materials.
Ensuring all communications and design materials adhere to the schools brand guidelines and tone of voice.
Overseeing the full lifecycle of major school eventsincluding planning promotion logistics execution and post-event communication.
Collaborating with staff students and the wider community to coordinate event materials and deliver high-quality experiences for all attendees.
Managing event documentation including run sheets promotional materials signage and photography.
Maintaining and updating website content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Fostering strong relationships with students families alumni staff CSPD and other external partners to enhance communication and engagement.
Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.
This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CSPDS Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
