Job Description
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Recycling Laborer provides recycling support to the F.E. Warren AFB Qualified Recycling Program in Cheyenne WY by performing operations such as the sorting baling transport and storage of recyclable materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accept and segregate recyclable materials into established categories such as aluminum metals glass and paper.
- Obtain weights of materials.
- Ensure proper storage of materials.
- Store reusable pallets and crates in a neat and orderly manner.
- Operate recycling equipment such as forklifts loaders and processing machinery.
- Relocate various materials such as cardboard brass lead and shredded paper bales.
- Provide general clean-up services at the Recycling Center facility and drop-off site.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in the recycling field.
- Working knowledge of recycling equipment such as forklifts loaders and processing machinery.
- Working knowledge of work practices methods processes in commercial facilities.
- Must have a working knowledge and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Must possess a valid drivers license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations.

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending stooping sitting walking or standing for prolonged periods of time. This job is performed in a shop setting various buildings and out of doors. This position requires driving and working out of doors in extreme heat/cold and possibly rainy weather. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Physical stamina and strength in all its forms (endurance temperature/climate stress etc.) is necessary.
