This position is located at Maury Correctional Institution inHookerton NC and works in the Behavioral Health Department of the Department of Adult Corrections. This position reports directly to the Psychological Services Coordinator/Human Services Program Coordinator II for the Therapeutic Diversion Unit (TDU).
The Human Services Provider Program Coordinator 1 (HSPPC1) provides coordinates and is accountable for inter-disciplinary person-centered services to individuals with intellectual disabilities dementia mental health disorders serious mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders. The TDU program is designed to help offenders placed in a restrictive housing environment with an alternative placement where they can be prepared for re-entry into a less restrictive environment. The HSPPC1 may be asked to work in other specialized service settings within Maury CI. This position will implement portions of the individualized treatment plan. Specifically the HSPPC1 will facilitate monitor and document individual progress in mental health and psychoeducational groups as well as organize and facilitate psychiatry clinics. This position will also conduct outreach to individuals in restrictive housing and facilitate referrals for specialized programming. The HSPPC1 will identify and document opportunities and obstacles for an individual to assist with the enhancement of improving an individuals self-determination participation in their community and to recognize interests.
The HSPPC1 will ensure compliance with correctional-based health safety and habilitative services as required by State/federal laws American Correctional Association expected practices and facility policies and procedures. The HSPPC1 will work with the behavioral health team to establish implement and monitor program goals quality controls and policies/procedures for assigned specialized treatment programs. This position will work with numerous professional disciplines such as nursing medical psychiatry behavioral health programs and custody to enact the behavioral health treatment plans and provide services consistent with the needs of the individual. The HSPPC1 will provide treatment and progress updates to the responsible behavioral health provider(s) and the multidisciplinary treatment team as needed.

The team of physicians nurses behavioral health services dental services psychiatric services pharmacy services and licensed healthcare administration services work together to provide emergent acute routine and chronic health care as well as preventive medicine at all prison facilities. They also coordinate with specialists and other clinical consultants outside of prisons throughout the state to ensure comprehensive health and well-being towards a safe transition from prison improving public health and decreasing recidivism.
