Job Description

Penguin Random House Christian Publishing Group is seeking a Marketing Manager who will craft marketing strategy and execute on plans such as: advertising and social media campaigns; influencer promotions maintaining title budgets; and managing pre-order promotions supporting adult Christian books to a wide audience of readers for our imprints including WaterBrook Multnomah Ink & Willow Image and Forum.

As the Marketing Manager you will report to the Vice President Director of Marketing. This is an exciting opportunity for a book marketer who reads widely communicates clearly works independently and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to develop and oversee marketing campaigns for various titles working closely with authors and their agents as well as the groups editorial publicity and publishing teams. You will also be involved in the day-to-day strategy of groups online marketing communication including the creation of content and maintaining a brand voice across platforms.

Our Christian publishing program is devoted to creating books that inspire readers to find rich spiritual purpose in their daily lives and invite them into a deeper relationship with God. We are seeking a creative collaborative and enthusiastic marketerwith interest in working with Christian books and authorsto join our team. The Marketing Manager will be an active member of the team who creates and executes customized campaigns. PRH Christian publishes a broad range of Christian focused books in a variety of categories including Chrisitan Living Spiritual Growth and Inspirational plus our 4-color product lines including gift products and journals.

We publish a broad range of Christian authors including John Mark Comer Mark Batterson Michael Todd Jordan Lee Dooley Jennie Allen Manny Arango Ashley Heatherington Madison Prewett Troutt Sarita Lyons Angela Halili and Arielle Reitsma Rich Villodas Katie Davis Majors Stephanie Ike Okafor and Joni Eareckson Tada.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Creates and leads innovative title-marketing campaigns and launch plans based on market data and consumer trends by partnering with internal teams using in-house tools and individual research
  • Collaborates closely with authors and their teams to implement marketing strategies by developing timelines digital content and integration across authors social media/related platforms
  • Devises influencer marketing campaigns custom audiences and company cross-promotionstoactivateword of mouth and reader engagementthatresultin book sales
  • Sets and meets ambitious sales goals drives discovery and engagement and closely works with other departments including Publishing Editorial Publicity Sales Consumer Engagement Creative Operations
  • Manages title-marketing strategies advertising and social media campaigns analytics and budgets
  • Presents during key publishing group meetings including acquisition meetings for potential authors
  • Attends publishing meetings and gives pertinent feedback on potential projects and book proposals

  • Minimum 4 years prior related experience in Christian marketing with experience working on creative and strategic campaigns; book publishing experience strongly preferred
  • Genuine interest in marketing Christian books
  • Excellent communication skills; speak effectively with top authors literary agents and key stakeholders
  • Collaborative detail-oriented organized self-motivated problem solver and a team player
  • Experience using social media platforms including Facebook Twitter Instagram etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills; multi-task prioritize and manage a busy inbox with timely follow-up
  • Ability to set and meet goals under an established budget
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required and an ability to learn new applications
  • Proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite programs and online marketing tools like Canva

The PRH Christian Publishing Groups office is located in Colorado Springs Colorado. This position is open to remote candidates located within the United States.

The salary for this position is $73500. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus subject to Company results.
