Job Summary for GIS Analyst 2 :
- Support ongoing GIS modernization projects by ensuring the accuracy consistency and completeness of geospatial data.
- Focus on improving the quality of geocoded address points and resolving topology conflicts in statewide GIS layers.
- Utilize ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online to edit and maintain geospatial datasets.
- Conduct comprehensive quality control and assurance checks on geocoded address points.
- Identify and correct gaps overlaps and misalignments in boundary layers (e.g. county and municipal boundaries).
- Use both automated tools (e.g. ArcPy) and manual techniques to validate and correct spatial data errors.
- Collaborate with senior GIS analysts to review and enhance geocoding sources and methodologies for voter placement models.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve data quality issues and ensure consistent data standards with internal and external stakeholders.
- Produce professional geographic outputs such as maps shapefiles and written recommendations for internal stakeholder requests.
- Prepare clear documentation for data quality procedures error correction methods and data sources.
- Communicate data quality assurance processes and GIS concepts effectively to both technical and general audiences.
