Principal Civil Engineer

The opportunity exists for an experienced civil engineer to join AFRYs Energy Division within the expanding Thermal and Renewable Energy team in the UK.

You will provide clients with help and support at all project stages including: technical and economic feasibility studies technology assessments technical due diligence reviews Lenders Engineer services front end engineering design (FEED) studies owners engineer services engineering-procurement-construction-management (EPCM) services operation and maintenance support and optimisation and expert witness services.

YOUR TASKS:

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Lead the civil engineering aspects of energy projectsfrom concept to detailed designdelivering drawings specs estimates and schedules.
• Provide technical guidance review designs and help resolve project challenges with practical hands-on expertise;
• Prepare clear accurate reports and documentation and support site activities through inspections and construction monitoring;
• Identify and mitigate risks related to health & safety design sustainability and commercial factors;
• Represent the company professionally support business development and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications :

YOUR PROFILE:

• You hold a minimum 2:1 degree in civil engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status;
• Detailed working knowledge of codes and standards used within the UK energy sector (Eurocodes and British Standards).

Experience of one or more of the following would be an advantage but not essential:

• Detailed civil/structural design experience including foundation design;
• Condition and structural assessment of existing structures to determine suitability for reuse;
• Energy project experience;
• Experience in the scoping of and management of site surveys and investigations;
• Previous experience of providing consulting services in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment;
• Experience of working with CAD software such as Revit and AutoCAD;
• Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
