Job Description


Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced MEP Cost Manager to provide cost management support on a large-scale technical construction program for a key technology client. This role is part of a major capital expansion of high-tech manufacturing facilities and offers the opportunity to work on complex high-value projects in a dynamic client-facing environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical and plumbing systems with experience supporting cost management across all phases of MEP design and construction.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide cost estimating and cost planning services including conceptual programming and detailed estimates.
  • Develop and manage MEP-specific cost plans and budgets.
  • Analyze and validate MEP contractor and subcontractor pricing and change order proposals.
  • Support procurement activities including bid analysis and contract documentation for MEP scopes.
  • Participate in value engineering exercises with a focus on MEP systems.
  • Produce monthly cost reports and assist in presenting updates to the client.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure MEP cost alignment with project goals.
  • Maintain communication with clients contractors and consultants throughout all project stages.
  • Support post-contract cost management including change control cost checks and valuations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve MEP cost management tools templates and procedures.

Qualifications :

 

  • Bachelors degree in construction management quantity surveying engineering or a related field
  • Relevant experience in cost management with a strong focus on MEP systems.
  • Experience supporting medium to large-scale construction projects ideally in high-tech or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • RICS accreditation or working toward it is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of MEP procurement value engineering and cost control processes.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems including HVAC and/or electrical distribution plumbing and fire protection.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a client facing position.
