Job Summary:
This position will support the Off-Highway Truck Structures team focusing on continuous product improvement improvement to design for manufacturability potential cost reduction updates and current production in Decatur IL and Thiruvallur India. The position will also have the opportunity to be exposed to and support new product introduction designs.
What you will have:
- Proficiency with 3D modeling software (Creo preferred Solidworks or equivalent acceptable).
- Previous experience designing welded & machined heavy structures.
- Understanding of the Continuous Project Improvement (CPI) process.
- Experience collaborating with Suppliers (internal or external) to optimize designs for manufacturability.
- Experience operations and manufacturing processes such as: welding machining forging and foundry.
Degree Requirement:
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering degree (or international equivalent) in an accredited Engineering or Materials Science curriculum and experience in design testing and/or manufacturing engineering.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Hands-on experience in mining or construction machinery equipment
- Personal experience manufacturing knowledge on welded heavy fabrications machining and castings.
- Experience with supplier collaboration and APQP execution

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives projects groups or activities making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce analyze simulate and test product design drafts.
Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design build and develop a new product technology or service from concept through to production.

Summary Pay Range:
$110520.00 - $165840.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
