Senior Systems Support Engineer Location: Las Vegas NV (Onsite MF) Contract: 6-month Contract-to-Hire Travel: Some domestic and internal travel required Summary: Were seeking a versatile and experienced Senior Systems Support Engineer with a strong foundation in Linux and proven ability to troubleshoot complex Java-based systems. This hybrid role spans Cloud/DevOps hardware and software support and ideal candidates will demonstrate deep expertise in at least two of these areas. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced high-uptime environment supporting cutting-edge gaming technology. Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and support Linux-based Java applications across development test and production environments
Debug Java code and resolve software-related issues
Maintain and improve systems utilizing container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Perform system installations upgrades and diagnostics; evaluate hardware for compatibility and functionality
Collaborate with engineering and support teams to enhance software and hardware integrations
Travel as needed to support site deployments maintenance or upgrades
Required Skills:
Strong Linux command line and systems troubleshooting skills
Experience debugging and analyzing Java applications
Solid grasp of containerization including Docker and Kubernetes
Ability to troubleshoot and support servers networking components and hardware devices
Familiarity with scripting and PostgreSQL or other relational databases
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to build or troubleshoot desktop/server hardware
Preferred:
Experience with microservices architecture and system integration
VMWare or Windows Server administration experience
Experience with RFID or embedded systems is a plus
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
5 years of experience in IT support systems engineering or similar roles
