Description
Rockhurst University is seeking a BSN Program Director. Rockhurst is a welcoming and inclusive private Catholic Jesuit institution with a strong mission aligned with the core values of nursing. The College of Nursing is in one of two academic schools housed in Saint Lukes College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The College of Nursing is known for its innovative teaching using a broad range of active learning experiences close faculty-student interactions and our strong mission focused on service advocacy and leadership. The BSN Program Director is a member of the staff appointed to manage the traditional BSN nursing program. Responsibilities include: classroom evaluation day-to-day program operations oversight of student advising and student learning outcomes collaborating with college leadership and the admissions academic support and financial aid staff to generate a prospective student pool reviewing and maintaining curriculum as well as leading new program development/initiatives partnering with leadership for all accreditation requirements and assigning faculty to ensure a high-quality learning experience. The Program Director engages in professional associations businesses and the local community as necessary to promote the visibility and stature of the program(s). Rockhurst nursing students often receive commendations for excellence in academics professionalism commitment to social justice and leadership. - Lead the BSN Faculty and Curriculum Committee
- Select train develop manage and lead full-time and adjunct/part-time faculty according to the guidelines provided by the Faculty Handbook and the workload policies.
- In partnership with campus leadership develop and support a plan for outreach activities to generate a prospective student pool sufficient to sustain and grow the program consistent with the strategic enrollment plan.
- Collaborate with academic advisors and admissions financial aid and student services personnel to assist with recruiting and enrolling qualified students.
- Effectively administer and grow the program(s) including curriculum and new program/initiative development clinical placement collaboration and staffing program assessment student registration/advisement and community and campus relations.
- Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes and facilitate quality improvement for the BSN program.
- Collaborate with leadership to complete accreditation requirements including mapping curriculum to professional standards and requirements. Facilitate the submission of required program reports and documentation.
- Support College-level initiatives and directives to maintain compliance with accreditation and state regulatory criteria and adhere to all University and campus policies and procedures.
- Perform instructional duties as assigned as outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of two years successful performance in a full-time university-level teaching role including online education and prior management experience in higher education or in another organization within the program directors discipline.
- Terminal degree from a regionally accredited university required.
- Must hold an active state required nursing license.
- Ability to read understand interpret and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations.
- Ability to resolve inquiries and complaints from employees students regulatory agencies or members of the academic or business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to faculty academic leaders university leaders and public groups.
- Experience with computerized administrative systems. Proficient with the use of standard office applications on personal computers.
- Effective project management skills; detail and deadline oriented.
