As part of the Strategic Procurement and Planning Division (SPPD) within the Supply Center of Excellence the Americas Regional Supply Risk Sensing professional leads regional efforts to identify assess and mitigate supplier operational risks. This role serves as both a regional facilitator and a global representative in the Enterprise Supply Risk & Response management process. Responsibilities include leveraging data analytics and cross-functional collaboration to proactively detect and prioritize supply risks utilizing supplier scorecards and coordinating mitigation strategies with regional teams. The role also drives continuous improvement in tools processes and practices to enhance supply chain resilience and operational efficiency.

What You Will Do:

As the Americas Regional Lead for Supply Risk Sensing within Caterpillars Strategic Procurement and Planning Division (SPPD) you will play a critical role in safeguarding the companys supply chain resilience. Acting as the Global representative for the Enterprise Supplier Risk & Readiness Process you will lead efforts to identify assess and mitigate supplier operational risks. This role requires strong analytical capabilities cross-functional collaboration and a continuous improvement mindset to ensure proactive risk management and uninterrupted supply continuity.

Global Risk Leadership: Serve as a Global lead for the Enterprise Supplier Risk & Readiness Process proactively identifying prioritizing and validating supplier risks to prevent supply disruptions.

Data-Driven Risk Analysis: Leverage internal analytics and external intelligence to detect and assess supply base risks ensuring timely and accurate risk sensing in collaboration with Procurement and Supply Chain teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with enterprise and regional stakeholders to escalate and prioritize critical risks using comprehensive supplier scorecards that integrate performance metrics.

Mitigation Planning & Execution: Facilitate the creation and implementation of effective mitigation plans with internal and external partners to resolve identified supply risks efficiently.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Drive enhancements in tools processes and training based on voice-of-customer feedback to improve efficiency standardization and adoption of best practices.

Education Requirements: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business Engineering or a related field (Masters preferred).

What You Will Have:

Analytical Expertise: Proven ability to use data analytics and sensing techniques to solve complex business problems and support data-driven decision-making.

Communication & Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience working across global and cross-functional teams. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools including SharePoint Power Apps Power BI and Teams to drive collaboration automation and data-driven decision-making.

Leadership & Facilitation: Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives manage projects and facilitate execution of high-impact supply chain strategies.

1. Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Proven ability to work with suppliers to enhance performance and implement business solutions.
  • Collaborates with senior stakeholders Project Leaders and Solution Owners to shape functional capabilities and drive service innovation.
  • Translates voice of the business (VOB) and voice of the customer (VOC) into actionable improvements.

2. Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement

  • Contributes to the development of standardized best practices tools and training materials.
  • Presents strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Applies LEAN principles and Six Sigma methodologies (Greenbelt/Black Belt preferred) to eliminate inefficiencies and drive operational excellence.

3. Analytical & Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Skilled in gathering analyzing and interpreting data using tools like flow charts and Pareto analysis.
  • Uses structured and intuitive approaches to identify root causes and solve complex problems.

4. Communication & Project Leadership

  • Strong communication skills for executive-level reporting feedback exchange and stakeholder engagement.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Leadership Exposure: Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams mentoring peers or presenting to executive leadershipshowcasing readiness for future leadership roles.
  • Advanced Tool Proficiency: Practical expertise with advanced analytics or automation platforms (e.g. Tableau) that improve supply chain visibility and decision-making.
  • Regional or Global Supply Chain Experience: Background in managing supply chains across multiple regions or globally with insight into regional risk dynamics and supplier ecosystems.
  • APICS Certification: Professional certification(s) such as CPIM or CSCP reflecting a strong foundation in supply chain and operations management best practices.

Summary Pay Range:

$110520.00 - $165840.00
