Position Description:

The Auto Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the branch ensuring efficiency accuracy and compliance in vehicle registration and titling services. This position manages personnel resolves complex customer issues and maintains financial integrity through daily cash reconciliation. The Auto Branch Manager collaborates with the Auto Supervisor to enforce policies develop staff and implement operational improvements. This role requires strong leadership problem-solving skills and extensive knowledge of state regulations and financial management.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Branch Operations Management:

  • Prepare the branch for daily operations including opening procedures.
  • Complete end-of-day responsibilities such as balancing clerks drawers completing LBS scanning auto/property checks and commercial packages and processing auto and property deposits.
  • Oversee branch workflow ensuring adherence to procedures and operational efficiency.
  • Implement and monitor branch policies to ensure compliance with state regulations and internal guidelines.
  • Conduct audits and evaluations to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained in a professional and operational condition.
  • Manage workflow by delegating tasks including staff rotations.

Financial Oversight and Cash Reconciliation:

  • Verify LBS Briar Reports Closeout Reports and voided transactions.
  • Work with the Auto Supervisor to count and reconcile daily cash transactions ensuring all funds are securely stored.
  • Monitor cash-handling procedures and enforce proper financial controls.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in cash reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and reporting requirements.

Staff Supervision and Development:

  • Oversee the performance of Auto Supervisors Lead Auto Clerks and Auto Clerks.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and develop training programs to enhance staff capabilities.
  • Manage staffing issues including hiring terminations and disciplinary actions.
  • Review and approve timesheets for both permanent and temporary employees.
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment that encourages team development and growth.

Customer Service and Issue Resolution:

  • Maintain high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve complex customer complaints and escalations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer experience.
  • Serve as the final authority on escalated customer issues before involving upper management.

Compliance Inventory and Fraud Prevention:

  • Ensure all transactions adhere to state laws and regulations.
  • Monitor fraud prevention measures and conduct periodic audits.
  • Train staff on compliance and fraud detection procedures.
  • Conduct weekly inventory audits and ensure all inventory is accounted for.
  • Escalate potential fraud and compliance issues to management and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).
