Job Description
- Current Michigan Teaching Certification with endorsement in Autism (SV) as specified by the Michigan Department of Education and highly qualified per ESSA.
- Plan implement and assess individualized lessons based on students unique learning needs and IEP goals.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages social interaction communication and academic growth.
- Work closely with special education staff parents and other professionals to coordinate services and support for students.
- Monitor student progress provide regular updates to families and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
- Utilize behavioral management techniques and strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development.
- Support students in the development of self-regulation emotional and social skills through structured interventions.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Experience working with students with autism and/or other developmental disabilities (preferred).
- Experience working with middle school-age students (preferred).
- Demonstrate ability to support the concept of full inclusion for students with disabilities.
- Perform all case-manager duties related to the IEP process.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues parents and students.
- Ukeru and/or CPI training is preferred.
