Job Description

JOB GOAL:
To structure the learning environment to study the integrated Health program outlined by the LRSD Curriculum Guidesand Arkansas Department of Workforce Education curriculum frameworks.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Ten (10) month contract (205 days) plus benefit : Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience.FLSA: EXEMPT.
Salary Range: $

  1. A bachelors degree (minimum).
  2. Must have Arkansas Teacher Certification in Health 7-12 and certification or AAA certification to coach football.
  3. Evidence of successful experience in working with health curriculum and implementation.
  4. Evidence of ability to work well with others.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills.
  6. Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.

Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.

  1. Teaches classes related to the health sciences curriculum.
  2. Arranges guest speakers.
  3. Coordinates field trips with curriculum.
  4. Evaluates the program on an on-going basis.
  5. Meets and instructs assigned class in the location and at the times designated.
  6. Prepares for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
  7. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs interest and abilities of the students.
  8. Develops and teaches games for students to teach them good skills as well as good social behaviors.
  9. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment material and facilities.
  10. Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administration regulation.
  11. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or procedures governing student life and conduct.
  12. Develops reasonable rules and procedures in order to maintain a classroom climate which is equitable fair and conductive to learning.
  13. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  14. Models a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  15. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
  16. Makes commitment to time necessary for participating in District/school sponsored staff development.
  17. Assumes responsibility for encouraging and involving parents and community in decision making relative to the development and implementation of programs at the building level.
  18. Completes daily work schedules as assigned.
