As Assistant Director (Finance Business Partnering) you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the Councils financial strategy ensuring long-term sustainability and robust financial stewardship. Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance (S151 Officer) you will lead on the production of accurate and timely financial reporting working with other Executive Directors and your Heads of Finance developing sustainable savings and ensuring developments in technology are embraced as far as possible to reduce cost. You will work closely with Members senior officers and external partners to provide strategic financial advice and support the delivery of corporate priorities. This role also includes working across the department to ensure smooth closure of accounts securing unmodified audit opinions maintaining effective audit and risk management functions and monitoring cashflow position.
About you
You will be a fully qualified member of a CCAB body (preferably CIPFA) with significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role. You will have demonstrable experience in developing and implementing financial strategies within a complex organisation and a strong understanding of local government finance. You will bring a can-do attitude and a track record of delivering high-quality financial advice and leading successful budget-setting and financial planning processes. Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills are essential along with the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in financial management and service delivery.
