Job Title: Finance Manager - Education and Schools
3 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
- To lead the financial management and strategic planning of budgets relating to education and schools within the Council. Provide high-quality financial advice monitoring and reporting to support the Councils statutory duties in education and ensure value for money in service delivery.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Manage and develop a small finance team supporting schools and education services.
- Work closely with the Schools Forum contributing to funding formula decisions and budget consultations.
- Support schools with budget setting medium-term financial planning and deficit recovery plans where applicable.
Essential Experience Required
- Proven experience of financial management within a public sector preferably in education or children s services.
Essential Qualification Required
- CCAB qualified accountant (e.g. CIPFA ACCA CIMA) or part-qualified with relevant local authority experience.
Additional information to note
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
