Systems Support Engineer Location: Las Vegas NV (Onsite MF) Contract: 6-month Contract-to-Hire Travel: Some domestic and internal travel required Summary: We are looking for a Systems Support Engineer with a strong foundation in Linux and a willingness to grow across multiple disciplines including Cloud/DevOps hardware and software support. This is a hands-on position ideal for a mid-level candidate ready to take the next step in their career supporting dynamic systems in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
Provide support and troubleshooting for Linux-based systems and applications
Assist in maintaining containerized environments (Docker Kubernetes)
Support system installations upgrades and troubleshooting of hardware and software
Participate in evaluating hardware for new system integrations
Assist in supporting cloud network and infrastructure tools as needed
Travel to support system deployments and site visits when required
Required Skills:
Foundational Linux experience (command line system logs troubleshooting)
Understanding of containers and microservices (Docker Kubernetes)
General networking and hardware troubleshooting skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to assemble or build desktop/server hardware
Familiarity with scripting and basic database queries (PostgreSQL preferred)
Preferred:
Exposure to Java environments or a willingness to learn Java debugging tools
Experience with VMWare or Windows Server
Knowledge of RFID or gaming systems is a plus
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field
23 years of experience in IT support systems administration or hardware/software troubleshooting
