We are now accepting applications for the new graduate RN Residency program at Virginia Mason Franciscian Health.

Manage complex patients requiring open heart & neurological surgery neuro and cardiac interventional treatments vascular pulmonary GI GU ventilator support mechanical circulatory support such as IABP Impella & ECMO CRRT and other devices as necessary. To thrive in this role youll heavily depend on your ability to multitask and react quickly to various situations. Youll clinically care for your patients- remaining focused and attentive as you continuously monitor your patients throughout your shift. You also serve as their advocate- supporting their best interests when they cannot. However its your sound judgment during critical moments that will ensure your success.

We offer the National Nurse Residency Program (NNRP) for our hospital inpatient units This is a national program focused on supporting the new graduate nurse from entry level to competent professional nurse. The evidence-based curriculum provides emphasis on leadership patient safety outcomes and professional development. Our program offers an individualized professional development plan and monthly seminars conducted during the first year of employment at Virginia Mason. Our Residency program will prepare you to successfully begin your career as a confident nursing professional.

Most positions are full time (36-40 hours per week). Shifts may vary 8-12 hours in duration. Some positions may require working every other weekend.

Qualifications

We require:

  • Current WA State RN license is required.
  • CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements
