As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Wholesale Credit Risk Technology Analytics Team youlead a team and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your teams work adheres to compliance standards business requirements and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Provide guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Set the overall guidance and expectations for team output practices and collaboration
- Anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manage stakeholder relationships and the teams work in accordance with compliance standards service level agreements and business requirements
- Create a culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
- Contribute to the build of components and features
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience. In addition demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- 5 years of hands on expertise developing in Java and Python
- Hands-on practical experience in system design application development testing and operational stability
- Practical cloud native experience (AWS)
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)
- Experience in developing debugging and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Databricks experience
- Ability to manage a small team of 3 junior developers
