TITLE: Educational Diagnostician
LOCATION: Urbana Early Childhood School Elementary Buildings UMS UHS Gerber
SUPERVISOR: Building Administrator Executive Director of Student Services Special Education Administrator
JOB SUMMARY: The Education Diagnostician has a foundation in psychology education and/or child development and assists in the development of a school environment that assesses and supports students academically socially behaviorally and emotionally.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary team members to support identification of students with disabilities and development of individual supports.
- Support a problem-solving framework as a basis for all professional activities including participation in as needed problem solving and building level collaboration meetings.
- Collect data from multiple sources as a foundation for decision-making.
- Use valid and reliable assessment techniques.
- Observe academics and behaviors of students in classrooms for evaluation and problem-solving purposes.
- Assist school psychologists and teachers in assessment administration including but not limited to progress monitoring and other academic achievement assessments.
- Assist school psychologists and teachers in data collection management and analysis.
- Make recommendations based on full individual evaluation data for special education and/or 504 eligibility services and/or program placement academic or behavioral accommodations and community services.
- Be able to effectively interpret summarize and communicate evaluation results about students
- Meet all district State and federal timelines and requirements for special education evaluation and service delivery procedures.
- Prepare clearly-written documentation that address referral questions and provide guidance for intervention strategies in a timely manner.
- Attend building district and other required meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Masters degree in psychology or other educational related field including an Illinois Educator License with a related endorsement
EXPERIENCE: 5 years school-based experience including experience in administering and interpreting standardized and non standardized assessments (academic achievement social-emotional and educational assessments)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Salary and Benefit information can be found on the Human Resources webpage. There are many opportunities for employees to earn additional compensation (stipends differentials extra duty pay etc.) during the regular school year and in the summer.
- This is a position within the collective bargaining unit and is not an administrative position.
- This is an exempt position.
- Student Contact Days and other days stipulated on the work calendar in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
EVALUATION: To be completed by the Building Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent for Student Services.
