Utilize specialized knowledge of Vitols new claims analysis practices processes and Executive Dashboard software tool to record analyze negotiate and settle claims analysis claims. This will include:
- Daily monitoring of vessel movements cargo operations and other marine related activities to update PNL budgets and create demurrage and secondary receivable claims in a timely manner.
- Create review negotiate and settle outgoing claims.
- Review negotiate and settle incoming claims.
- Review and advise traders on potential litigation situation.
- Reviewing and advising on shipping contracts.
- Oversee the activities of claims analysts.
- Assist staff with their claims portfolios and monitor demurrage accounts.
- Create and maintain processes and reports for processing demurrage and secondary cost claims.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Maritime Administration Business Administration or related field and 5 years of experience as a Claims Analyst.
- 5 years of experience to include:
- Handling and processing claims related to demurrage detention and other shipping-related disputes;
- Investigating claims gathering supporting documentation and negotiating settlements with carriers charterers or other involved parties;
- Calculating and analyzing demurrage charges across various shipping modes (ocean and inland waterways);
- Interpreting charter parties and other shipping documents to determine laytime and demurrage;
- Interpreting shipping contracts charter parties and international trade terms;
- Interpreting complex contractual language and negotiating favorable terms related to laytime and demurrage clauses;
- Conducting complex data analysis for demurrage calculations and trend analysis;
- Creating comprehensive reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
