Job Summary:

Performance Auditor 4 $36.0433/hr. Grade 23:
Working under limited supervision performs compliance operational information technology and other types of audits and consulting activities in accordance with the annual audit plan with minimal supervision and performs more complex audits under the guidance of the Performance Audit Supervisor. As the performance Auditor I gains experience the incumbent may start planning audit work under the direct supervision of the Performance Audit Supervisor. Execute performance audit programs in accordance with generally accepted governmental auditing standards (GAGAS) the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and the Audit Manual.

Senior Performance Auditor4 $38.3942/hr. Grade 23:
Works nearly independently or under limited supervision to proficiently perform all phases of compliance operational information technology and other types of audits and consulting activities in accordance with the annual audit plan with minimal supervision. As the Senior Performance Auditor gains experience the incumbent may start performing more complex work under the direct supervision of the Performance Audit Supervisor. Execute performance audit programs in accordance with generally accepted governmental auditing standards (GAGAS) the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and the Audit Manual.

Principal Auditor4 $40.3139/hr. Grade 23:
Works nearly independently or under limited supervision to proficiently develop perform and report on new high-risk and /or complex audit and consulting engagements with minimal supervision. The principal performance auditor may mentor new auditors and perform audit quality control reviews. The senior auditor has demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in auditing standards. Execute performance audit programs in accordance with generally accepted governmental auditing standards (GAGAS) the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and the Audit Manual. May perform in a lead capacity.

Note: Positions will be assigned based on the experience and qualifications listed below. Upon satisfactory completion of department promotional standards and demonstration of competency for all job requirements employees may be eligible to be promoted to the next level.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Prepares audit work papers to include sufficient relevant and competent evidence to provide a basis for conclusions reached by interpreting and evaluating data to determine if the information provided is accurate reliable and complete.

Evaluates activities and internal controls to determine whether controls are designed tobe effective and are implemented as designed. Reviews and defines audit steps by deciding what work needs to be performed based on risk factors and adjust the work plans to better meet audit objectives. Gathers reviews and interprets applicable information and data to determine if work was adequately performed to make an accurate conclusion.

Contacts appropriate persons to specify schedules procedures documentation and other requirements and may coordinate and conduct unannounced audits as necessary to prevent destruction of records and other information. Interview agency personnel (depending on who is being audited).

Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:
- Auditing accounting and auditing methods and system; of general auditing standards and procedures.
- Computer technology principles terminology and programming.
- Federal regulations Arizona Revised Statutes applicable agency manuals and policies and procedures.

Skill:
- Accurately analyze and interpret data.
- Communicate effectively and train others.
- Google Workspace

Ability:
- Compose clear and concise audit reports.
- Accurately complete and assemble audit working papers.

Selective Preference(s):

Performance Auditor 4- BA Degree in accounting or closely related field experience in auditing work principles standards and technique.
Senior Performance Auditor - BA Degree in accounting or closely related field two years experience as an Auditor or equivalent.
Principal Auditor 4- BA Degree in accounting or closely related field two years experience as an Auditor.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).

Performance Auditor 4: General business experience in the subject area of the audit function. Minimum of 1 year of related experience.

Senior Performance Auditor 4: Minimum of two years experience and able to demonstrate the ability to accurately efficiently independently and professionally perform all of the tasks required of the Performance Auditor 3 role. In addition to those tasks the scope of duties and tasks to be learned and performed includes: The ability to plan an audit in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.

This position requires at least two years of experience operating as a Performance Auditor 3 and demonstration of proficiency in the entire audit planning tasks. In addition experience in performing risk assessments internal control assessments and scoping of audit work.

Principal Auditor 4: Minimum of three years experience and able to demonstrate the ability to accurately efficiently independently and professionally perform all of the tasks required of the Performance Auditor 4 role. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
