The Lead Auditor serves as the technical authority for the audit effort and is responsible for ensuring consistency in classification methodology and evidence standards across all auditors. This role has final authority on disputed findings chairs arbitration sessions and provides oversight and mentorship to the audit team.
Location: Remote United States
Duration: Three month engagement (approximately 520 hours total)
Responsibilities
- Oversee workload distribution across auditors to ensure steady production.
- Ensure the audit methodology is applied consistently across all assigned procedures.
- Review disputed classifications and issue final determinations.
- Chair arbitration sessions and document outcomes.
- Mentor auditors in classification accuracy application of Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) criteria and evidence documentation.
- Provide input for daily debriefs and support reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of opening and closing presentations and to the final audit report.
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
- United States citizenship.
- Active Public Trust
- Certified Lead Auditor credential meeting international conformity assessment standards (ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 or equivalent accredited Lead Auditor certification).
- Demonstrated ability to serve as final classification authority in audits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Order 8260 series specifications.
- Familiarity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Document 8168 Procedures for Air Navigation Services Aircraft Operations (PANS-OPS).
- Training in FAA Terminal Instrument Procedures (TERPS) or ICAO PANS-OPS.
- Experience leading audits in technical or aeronautical data environments.
Work Environment
- All audit work is performed in a secure government-approved virtual platform.
- Each team member must use an electronic device capable of audio microphone and visual sharing for daily debriefs and arbitration sessions.

- Secure virtual environment with approved repositories evaluation calculators and the system of record for findings
