Primary Responsibilities
The Engagement & Activities Coordinator at Borderlands Research Institute ( BRI ) will be tasked with local-regional community engagement emphasizing conservation research outreach and demonstration. This position would be responsible for elevating conservation activities/opportunities throughout all of west Texas serve an important role in making connections for stakeholders interested in conservation and ultimately elevate the BRI brand throughout the region. The position will also play a leadership role in coordinating awareness and fundraising activities across the state. Examples of Primary duties Work with BRI Communications Coordinator to develop information and then disseminate it to private and public stakeholders through various media sources and active presentations in order to build public support for BRI programs and wildlife/habitat conservation. Advertise and coordinate stakeholder training and education opportunities for all stakeholder groups. Develop enhance and disseminate best management practices for stakeholder groups. Seek-out and attend exhibitor opportunities at relevant conferences workshops recruiting events etc and serve as the spokesperson/representative for BRI . Provide significant leadership with planning and implementing the annual West Texas Conservationist of the Year banquet and other similar events. Assist Trans-Pecos communities NGOs University personnel and others with conservation/sustainability/education initiatives. Coordinate outreach initiatives for BRI faculty staff students. Supervisions: Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times including maintaining data security and confidentiality. Will perform other duties as assigned. Received: Reports to the Associate Director of Operations Borderlands Research Institute. Given: None. Any qualifications to be considered in lieu of stated minimums require the prior approval of the Human Resources Director. Position is security sensitive.
