In this role you will lead transmission planning activities that allow AWS to identify sites for renewable energy projects and power supply opportunities for existing and future AWS data centers. Key job responsibilities Key job responsibilities 1. Build develop and maintain transmission planning models to support Amazons energy growth strategies. 2. Conduct in-house power flow transmission studies generation de-activation and addition results. 3. Analyze and mitigate transmission constraints in collaboration with internal teams (Energy Procurement Operations Field Engineering) and external stakeholders (Utilities RTOs). 4. Perform technical due diligence assessments on power connection options evaluating costs timelines and key risks for proposed power projects. 5. Aggregate and manage datasets from multiple sources to provide comprehensive insights on energy projects supporting decision-making in renewable energy integration and load capacity planning. 6. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of transmission planning with Amazons overall energy strategy. 7. Manage relationships with consultants and external partners through various contractual documents and agreements.

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Power Systems or related field. 2. 2 years of power systems engineering transmission planning or related field experience. 3. 2 years proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g. PSS/E PSLF PowerWorldTARA). 4. Strong understanding of power system principles including load flow short circuit and stability analyses. 5. Familiarity with NERC and regional reliability standards and planning criteria.
