About the Position:
The Community Services Program Coordinator directs manages supervises and coordinates the activities and operations of various departmental services and volunteer programs. This role also involves coordinating assigned activities with other divisions departments and external agencies.

Will possess a strong background in recreation community services or volunteer program management. They will haveleadership skills experience coordinating programs and a passion for serving the community. The candidate shouldpossess exceptional customer service excellent communication skills and the ability to foster collaborative relationshipswith diverse groups and organizations.


A Day in the Life Consists of:
As a Community Services Program Coordinator with the City of San Bernardino your day will revolve around supporting and enhancing City services through effective volunteer engagement and program management. You will work directly with community members City staff and partner agencies to ensure smooth impactful operations. Your day may include:

  • Providing excellent customer service to the public and City departments while assisting volunteers and resolving concerns.

  • Coordinating and overseeing volunteers.

  • Developing program goals and policies participating in strategic planning and recommending improvements.

  • Assigning and reviewing staff work plans coordinating activities and ensuring successful program implementation.

  • Coordinating daily operations of community services and volunteer programs.

What You Need to Qualify

Education and Experience:
High School diploma or G.E.D.ANDTwo (2) years of major college course work in recreation physical education or a related field or three (3) years of recreation or community service experience preferably in a municipal government environment; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Licenses Certifications and Equipment:
Possession of a valid California State Drivers License

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
When assigned to the Parks Recreation and Community Services Department the employee works under typical office conditions and the noise level is usually quiet. Employee is regularly required to sit; talk or hear both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger handle and feel computers and standard business equipment; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk; stoop kneel bend or crouch; and lift up to 25 pounds.
