About the Role
Were looking for an experienced legal professional to step into a key senior role within our Legal team. As Senior Legal Counsel Disputes & Regulatory Compliance your focus will be leading our response to litigation and disputes while also supporting regulatory compliance across our operations.
This role reports directly to the General Counsel - Wagering & Corporate and offers high visibility and impact. Youll partner with senior executives manage complex litigation matters and help navigate a fast-changing regulatory landscape. More specifically you will:
- Lead and manage disputes litigation arbitration and mediation across the business.
- Provide strategic legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters including competition law and investigations.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments advising the business on necessary adaptations.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to support product development and business initiatives with proactive legal input.
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear commercially focused guidance for non-legal teams.
- Brief and manage external counsel on high-risk and complex matters ensuring alignment with business priorities.
About You
Youre a confident and commercially minded legal advisor with a strong background in regulatory compliance and dispute resolution. You think strategically communicate clearly and influence decisively. You bring:
- A law degree and current Australian practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
- 8 years post-admission experience ideally from a top-tier law firm and/or senior in-house legal role.
- Strong expertise in litigation dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.
- Experience advising in complex highly regulated industries.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- A proactive commercially minded approach and sound legal judgement.
