Job Title: Plant Accounting Manager
Location: Lawton OK
Schedule: Full-Time Onsite (5 Days/Week)
Compensation: Competitive salary Partial relocation assistance (sign-on bonus)
About the Position
We are seeking a Plant Accounting Manager to lead all accounting operations at our Lawton OK manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for monthly financial closings inventory oversight compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and U.S. GAAP and maintaining strong internal controls. The position will also manage a junior accountant onsite and collaborate with corporate finance partners to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
As a member of the Plant Leadership Team this role partners closely with both local and centralized finance teams to align plant performance with organizational financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee monthly and quarterly plant financial closings and special analyses in compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
- Manage the annual physical inventory process and ensure accuracy of material cost information.
- Ensure a robust and effective internal control environment in alignment with SOX requirements.
- Serve as the local lead for the standard cost-setting process.
- Provide leadership mentorship and development to plant-level accounting staff.
- Collaborate with corporate finance and other plant leadership to achieve business and financial objectives.
- Communicate and explain accounting and financial results to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance Economics or related business discipline.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in operational accounting or financial analysis specifically in a manufacturing plant or distribution center setting.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience.
- Hands-on experience in plant-level accounting management (not corporate-side only).
- Must currently reside in the Lawton OK area or be willing to relocate without a full relocation package (sign-on bonus available).
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Expertise in US GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to summarize complex financial data.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP preferred) Microsoft Office and Hyperion.
- Change management experience and ability to lead process improvements.
- Strong understanding of how accounting decisions impact operational and financial performance.
