Our team takes a world view of payments for all of Amazon and builds highly customized and seamless payment experiences for our global customers as well factoring the local payment expectations of our customers. This focus on customer and geography requires working on different technologies and back-end platform systems in order to meet the needs of our customers. Our back-end systems are always available and guarantee that our customers orders are never lost and always processed even when downstream services are down. You will have a chance to understand and influence Amazons Stack across Retail and Digital businesses.

Our team is highly motivated and in need of Software Development Engineer who can take the technical reigns of the team and steer them in the direction of our vision. As a Software Development Engineer you will lead the design and development of high-scale web services and workflows that impact our payment processing capabilities.


Key job responsibilities
- Work closely with senior engineers to design implement and deploy applications that impact our business with an emphasis on Payments across our retail and digital business.
- Own the delivery of an integral piece of a system or application.
- Instill best practices for software development and documentation assure designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Be a strong proponent of Operational Excellence

About the team
We own the launching payment products in LATAM region. Our team manages all Amazon branded payment offerings in this region. These offerings are growing rapidly and we are continuously adding new market-leading features and launching new products to continue to serve our customers.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
