Join our team! Community Action is looking for a Development Coordinator to join our Communication and Development team. This position plays a vital role in implementing Community Actions development strategy including leading the agencys grant writing efforts and managing of the agencys donor and volunteer databases. Primary duties include grant research and writing to achieve established goals; data entry; gift processing generating/analyzing development volunteer and other reports to achieve established goals; processing volunteer applications; and executing annual development strategies.

Starting Pay: $23.49/hour

The Role:

  • Serve as primary grant writer for the agency; research write and submit grant proposals in accordance with agency priorities and goals.
  • Support completion of grant reports.
  • Regularly conduct prospect research to support fund development goals.
  • Maintain donor and volunteer databases.
  • Use data as a tool to support fund development including through evaluation of development activities and report metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Development team on donor communications and campaign strategy.
  • Identify and connect Community Action donors to meaningful engagement opportunities like volunteerism.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelors degree in communications business marketing/advertising human services or a related field or relevant experience preferred
  • Strong technical English communication skills (written oral visual) required.
  • Prior related experience particularly in the nonprofit sector required.
  • Previous experience and success in grant writing and/or fund development required.
  • Experience and ability to demonstrate skills using data analytics tools such as Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Valid Nebraska Drivers License and good driving record preferred.
