Psst want to be part of the team creating the LLM Agent that runs Alexa We are expanding and looking for Sr SDEs to work at the leading edge of LLM systems development. Join us in solving the tricky problems of scaling LLM based systems designing clever Agents and integrating the Web into Alexa. We want SDEs looking for a challenge and who are happy to work in a fast evolving field. The launch of Alexa has unlocked dozens of new areas of development and we are expanding to take advantage of the growing capabilities of large language models.
What youll do:
Architect and develop next-generation AI agents that power Alexas core intelligence
Pioneer solutions for scaling LLM systems to serve hundreds of millions of users
Design sophisticated agent frameworks that seamlessly integrate web capabilities
Drive innovation in human-AI interaction and conversational AI
Join us in building the next generation of AI technology that will transform how people interact with the digital world.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of key system features that support LLM based experiences.
- Will work with other team members to collaborate and align on design approaches prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.
- Will work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against demanding schedules.
- Will establish architectural principles select design patterns and then mentor team members on their appropriate application
- Deep dive into the end-to-end system architecture and drive long-term alignment with partner teams.
- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle including coding standards software architectures code reviews source control management continuous deployments testing and operational excellence
- 7 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Masters degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
