Salary: $48959.17 - $67520.61/Annually (Salary includes a 29.33% Stipend)

Were seeking a Master Electrician to join our team at the Bangor Air National Guard Base. This is an opportunity to work on a wide variety of systems where your expertise directly supports military readiness and emergency response in Maine.

As part of the Department of Defense Veterans and Emergency Management (DVEM) youll play a vital role in keeping over 550000 sq. ft. of facilities and 49 buildings powered safe and fully operational. Youll support the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Bangor and two additional units in South Portland.

We work Monday through Friday 6:00am-2:30pm which means more time in the afternoons and evenings for the things that matter to you. Work-life balance is important to us which is why our employees also love our generous vacation time along with 13 paid holidays and 12 sick days off per year.

What Youll Do:

  • Install maintain modify and repair electrical systems and equipment across multiple sites (a State vehicle is provided for any required travel between the Bangor and South Portland facilities).
  • Interpret and work from blueprints schematics and diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and respond to service calls including scheduled and emergency repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete new installations and ongoing facility upgrades.

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Experience in commercial electrical settings including both old and new construction and materials with an understanding of how they relate to the construction process
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics for hooking up pumps motors and electric valves to meet construction standards.

Physical Aspects of the Role:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. and carrying loads up to 75 feet.
  • Climbing ladders and working in confined spaces including ceilings and underground tanks.
  • Bending reaching and moving around equipment being serviced.
  • Working both independently and as part of a team in varied physical settings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current Master Electricians License as issued by the Electricians Examining Board

Licensing/registration/certification requirements: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class).

  • Master Electricians license as issued by the Electricians Examining Board.
  • Requires a State of Maine Class C motor vehicle operators license.
  • Some positions may require a Certificate of Special Training in High Voltage work.
