Job Description

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Head Womens Basketball Coach the Coordinator of Womens Basketball Operations provides administrative support to the Womens Basketball program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruiting Operations - Maintain and coordinate the recruiting calendar in alignment with NCAA regulations. Organize all aspects of official and unofficial visits (travel itineraries accommodations meals campus tours). Act as liaison between recruits coaching staff and campus departments (admissions compliance housing etc.)
  • Womens Basketball Operations - Coordinate Head Coachs calendar on a weekly and sometimes daily basis. Answer phone calls and return messages from the public regarding the program.
  • Team Travel - Work with the departments travel agent and create detailed travel itineraries. Identify and develop travel needs and exercise judgment and discretion in the planning and execution of team travel arrangements and logistics.
  • Team Liaison - Liaise with visiting teams coordinate practice times laundry services and related tasks. Work with the Athletics Ticket Office to coordinate and record student-athlete guest passes for home games.
  • Supervision of volunteers & student managers.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge of basketball and NCAA Division I operations. Experience in administering basketball programs and a solid understanding of NCAA policies and procedures. Excellent communication and organizational skills proficiency in PC operations including Excel Word and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn systems such as the tape exchange program. Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines exercise sound judgment and collaborate well with coaches staff faculty students and the broader community. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to three years of administrative support experience required. Bachelors degree may be substituted for two years of experience.

Collegiate basketball experience preferred

Division I basketball experience preferred.

Physical Summary

  • Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

Licenses / Certificates

A valid CA drivers license required.

Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on university business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.

Compensation

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3680 - $5417 per month.

Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.

Time Base
