The Boeing CompanyThe Phantom Works Engineering Capability Director is seeking a Platform Structures Senior Manager Capability Leader.
This is an engineering management position which leads the mechanical and structural people process and tool focus across all Phantom Works programs and projects.
Leadership will be across sites in the United States and can be worked from any of the Boeing locations listed. (Berkeley MO El Segundo CA Kent WA Mesa AZ Ridley Park PA)
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees and mid-level managers performing engineering and technical statement of work in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
Identifying people process and tool resources that will be needed to support Phantom Works programs.
Building relationships with Mechanical Structural leaders across other businesses and programs to have go-to partners for staffing needs and working collaboratively with the Design Centers.
Develop employees into leaders in their fields and provide a strong growth environment for its engineers.
Develops and executes integrated organizational plans policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies goals objectives.
Acquires resources for organizational activities provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders peers partners and direct reports.
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches products and processes.
Manages develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at any of the listed locations.
Occasional travel aligned to business needs should be expected.
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Qualifications):
Bachelors degree or higher in a technical field
3 years of current or prior management experience leading engineering teams or IPTs
5 years of experience working air vehicle structures or mechanical systems engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Senior management and/or Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) development program experience
3 years of experience working development programs
