Job Description

Overview

Nakupuna Prime is seeking a Strategic Planner. The Strategic Plannerwillserve as part of a Five Eyes (FVEY) focused strategic planning teamadvising the Functional Combatant Command Divisionseffortfor theDefense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in coordination with and in support of DoD and Combatant Command (CCMD) objectives.

Responsibilities

The following reflects managements definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

  • Provide support specific to FVEY partnerships engagements and activities in the development of DTRA policy authorities regional support strategies supporting plans and derivative guidance and efforts to counter and defeat weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in support of DoD priorities.
  • Developstrategic and operational FVEY plans programs and initiatives in coordination with other DTRA offices and in support of the DoD the Joint Staff CCMD and allies and partners.
  • Assist DTRA in shaping managing and maintaining bilateral and multilateral cooperative relationships with FVEY allies and other international or interagency partners.
  • Provide expertise in the development sustainment and execution of high-level engagements for DTRA key personnel and senior leaders both CONUS and OCONUS to support counter-WMD relationships and activities.
  • Support DTRA in collaborating with the interagencyand international partnersto address countering extant threats and emerging threats in the WMD discipline.
  • Provide briefings information papers strategies and planning documents and perform program management staff work to initiate communicate and manage FVEY and other partner nation efforts to garner approval across senior DoD-level staff.

Qualifications

Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in the ability and skills to manage multiple projects keep track of or adjust existing tasks while identifying new tasks and expectations as projects evolve
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear concise and articulate correspondence with a focus on quality control and attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills geared towards senior executives
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills that foster teamwork and create positive relationships with staff and principals
  • Working knowledge of coordination requirements for the successful preparation and approval of reports briefings memoranda and presentations
  • Ability to prioritize multi-task plan problem solve and adapt in a fast-paced and strategic environment under minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g. Word PowerPoint Excel and Project)

Education and Experience:

  • Masters Degreefrom an accredited college or university; Strategic Studies preferred.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of military experiencein the area of planning/strategic planning with emphasis on joint and combined operations.
  • Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with a high-level of accountability.
  • Desired: Experience with international partners and allies and/or with regional combatant commands and other USG agencies.

Clearance Requirements: Applicant must possessan active Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for immediate SCI nomination and indoctrination. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands wrists and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
